There Are Many Benefits Of Homeschooling

Firstly lets try to fathom the reasons we would want David and Karen to learn at home versus going to public schools. Lets start with some of the superficial reasons, first one being you do not have to get up at 6:00 am in the morning and get them dressed for school, pack the lunches, give them all your normal instructions and wait for them to get home hoping everything went well that day at school.
Moving on to some of the more important benefits of homeschooling your children. Homeschooling actually will give you much more control over the things that can happen at public schools that could directly affect your children. What i believe to be one of the most important benefits of homeschooling is that you the parent become in control of how your chils is developed. With this the parents are the only people that will be making decisions on what you believe your child needs to be taught or what you want your child to do, this becomes something where you have much more visibility. Being able to decide the homeschool curriculum that best fits your childrens learning needs and/or the interests of the child is probably one of the best benefits of homeschooling.
The average ratio of children to students in most schools is approx one teacher to twenty students. One on one attention is one other benefit of homeschooling that your child will recieve when homeschooling. Ok, Karen needs more work in math, all you have to do is add more time to math and maybe less time in english or whatever you choose as there is not any set class times for teaching a subject like there is in most of your public schools. One thing that you are able to do homeschooling that you cannot in public schools is remove some of the anxiety a child might have by not getting enough time in a subject in which he/she needs more help with, unlike when you are homeschooling you can just adjust your childs schedule to give them more time in a day in that particular subject. Remember that the time it takes for a child to learn a subject will depend on the every different child.
What happens next is a wonderful thing, the learning of your children now becomes kind of a total family activity where the family becomes involved in just about all steps of the learning curriculum. Another thing that you will really love about homeschooling your child is you get to take them on field trips where you will both learn and have a wonderful time, and you will be doing experiments with them, which can be very interesting, but all then this also equals you are spending much more “quality time” with you child and i believe that this also brings a family much closer.
Another one my biggest benefits of homeschooling is your children do not have to deal with any negative peer pressure that you find in most all our public schools today, and your child does not have to compete to prove the abilities that he/she has as the competition is very low when homeschooling and your childs confidence will remain high. Planning your childs learning sessions is very key when you need to plan so that you are able to keep the child interested and moving forward, this is something that you are able to do better than any teacher in public schools possibly could because you know your child better than anyone, you might consider mixing in something that your child enjoys along with the childs difficult schooling activities. One of my most favorite things to do with my children every once in a while is afeter a couple of hours on one of the tougher subjects take them on a field trip to place that they could learn about with in the subjects they are studying and with this the child is having a lot of fun but is also learning.
One thing you must understand about your children is the fact that the learning style is different from child to child as some children learn very well by writing and others might learn quicker by reading and still others are visual children and need to see objects in order to learn faster. One of the geat benefits of homeschooling that we are hearing from a lot of home school moms and dads is you now have total control of what your child is being taught when it comes to things like morals and religous beliefs, there will no longer be that confusion that most children fight with when they see the things that they are being taught at home as far as things like i mentioned earlier, but by homeschooling you child now see’s both what is beaing taught and also what is being practiced in the childs enviroment.
In the end there are many many parents today that are very unhappy with our public schools are being run. Some think that there children are not learning enough, or some that the child might be getting pushed way to hard. One other concern that parents have when it comes to what is being taught in public schools is ethics & discipline. There are many many reasons that parents are choosing to homeschool these days and i believe that homeschooling is the best way for a child in todays world to learn, but remember this requires a lot of your time, so dont start it unless your positive that you have the time so it will benefit your childs education.
