What is Twitter? Twitter is a Social Media or Social Networking site where you can interact with others online through a computer. If you are familiar with other Social networking sites like Myspace. these are just a few of the most popular social networking sites. Each site has it’s own demographics. Each site has it’s own uses as well as it’s own set of rules for use.
Twitter establishes a basic need to stay in touch with people it is human interaction through short or brief messaging and always answering the question of what are you doing? Twitter does have one distinct difference then other social media sites and that is the form of communication that they use. Twitter only allows 140 characters of communication at one time. so really all you can send or text at once is a message of no more than hundred and forty chracters. In reality then you are simply sending out text messages to your friends and associates. These little communications are tweets. I know this all sounds very cute. Twitter has become one of the leading Social Networking sites online today. Twitter is a powerhouse and building a business there can be fun and easy.
I went to a seminar recently about social networking where one of the speakers had his laptop open and was conversing with his twitter following during the seminar. At the same time the other guest speakers were making their presentations from his seat he was typing in what he was doing at the seminar. Some might think it rude? I think not. I bet you or people you know send out dozens of text messages on a daily basis. Texting is the primary platform used by Twitter.
It really is easy to build your business and make money on Twitter once you learn the ropes. One such way to achieve this is to be a huge list of followers.
